METAL, Fulfillment Stats, & 615 Pieces.
over 5 years ago – Thu, Nov 22, 2018 at 01:43:28 AM

My newest game, is LIVE ON KICKSTARTER right now! Published by Lay Waste Games, who make beautiful metal dragons and things, Metal is a game made 100% from solid metals such as steel, zinc, and aluminum. You can grab a copy for $5 off by pledging now!

In addition to this, there's a 72hour goal right now to get 1,000 backers, if it's hit, everyone will get a free golden mallet that I designed :) If miniature classic lawn games, or strange wonderful games of my creation are your thing, then you won't be disappointed.

TOKYO SERIES FULFILLMENT STATUS

Thank you all for your patience with fulfillment, I've said it many times before, but it makes all the difference to have amazing supporters like you that are understanding and give encouragement even when things don't go according to plan.

Luckily we are on plan now! Here's an update to every location:

US: Games have shipped, and may still be in transit depending on where you live.

EU: Games have shipped and everything should be en route now or momentarily.

Canada: Games have started shipping and should all be delivered very soon.

Asia: Games have all shipped, and some are still en route via intermediary fulfillment centers local to certain countries.

Australia & New Zealand: I have confirmation from Aetherworks that they have all inventory and are processing the orders now. I believe this means they will be shipping momentarily.

Everywhere Else: Your games should have shipped from VFI in China, or with the EU shipments. Tracking may not update or be available for all locations until they get closer to delivery.

If you have any issues with shipment feel free to reach out directly to BlackBox if you are in the US, EU, or CA. If you are not in any of those locations, you can reach out to me. We are at the point now where I will ask everyone to wait another week or so before sending inquiries about packages as many are still en route. If you haven't received anything by the end of the month, then get in touch and we'll make sure everything is taken care of!

615 CUSTOM PIECES

Do you know what this number represents? It's the number of custom pieces you received by backing the triple pack of Tokyo Series games! That's a LOT of custom pieces. I want to take a moment to look back at the amazing experience and process it took to get here.

I usually don't like to share incredibly early process photos, but I really like all of you, so I'm going to show you anyway. This was the very first mockup I ever made of Jidohanbaiki, with a custom drawn box cover I did. I was thinking of some crazy neo-tokyo theme before I had even planned the Tokyo Series. Interesting to look back at now.

Here I am hand stamping boxes for the original Jutaku. I'm really happy I don't have to do that anymore haha.

And finally here is an event die that I designed for Tokyo Metro back when it was a pick up and deliver game. Yes, it was once a pick up and deliver game.

CONCLUSION

It's all thanks to you, and Kickstarter, that I was able to take my ideas, develop them, polish them, and bring them into the world. Keep supporting creative work that you believe in, you've already had an immense impact on my life in the best ways.

Fulfillment Status Updates
over 5 years ago – Wed, Nov 07, 2018 at 12:25:17 AM

The first thing want to say is I really really appreciate your patience and support as backers, and I want games in your hands as soon as humanly possible. We are all (myself included!) anxiously awaiting the delivery of the Tokyo Series games worldwide, and it has been a surprise to me that fulfillment has taken longer than I was promised. I want to be as transparent as possible and layout exactly how, and why, it took a bit longer for games to ship than I had been told:

(If you don't want to read all of this, the summary is that all games will be shipped with tracking by next week at the latest. This includes Turin Market).

PAST SHIPPING TIMELINE

EARLY JUNE: I am informed that games will finish manufacturing and be prepared for shipping by Aug 25th. I confirm with OTX and BlackBox that this will put us in a good spot to deliver backer copies to you all by the first week of October.

LATE JUNE: I have to make the decision to ship games to Essen or not, on a separate shipment with other Panda Manufacturing Games. I decide to ship them as we are on schedule for delivery in the first week of October, and I offer backers the option to pick up games at Essen in a future KS update.

AUGUST: All games leave China for fulfillment centers, on schedule, and I demo games at GenCon.

EARLY OCTOBER: I receive news that the games are on schedule to deliver to all fulfillment centers by Oct 18th, assuming customs go as planned.

OCTOBER 22ND: I confirm that all games have been received at fulfillment centers (except for Australia, which now has an expected date of Oct 27th due to a shipping delay). I expect BlackBox to finish packing and shipping games within 10 business days as they promised. I was told they would begin shipping as soon as inventory was received.

OCTOBER 28TH: Aetherworks confirms that they have the shipment at customs and will begin packing and shipping as soon as they clear it, and VFI confirms all Asia orders are shipped (most have tracking but some need to hit another local fulfillment center first).

UNEXPECTED THING :O

NOVEMBER 3RD: BlackBox informs me that they did not start preparing and shipping US, EU, and CA shipments until the beginning of November. All of the games come in a pack of 3, with an extra layer of shrink wrap around them to simplify shipping. I had confirmed earlier with BlackBox that they could simply take off this outer layer of shrink wrap for the 20 or so games that needed to be split up per fulfillment center, and they confirmed this would be fine and not cause any delay.

I was just informed that BlackBox had not given 'approved instructions' for how to take off the shrink wrap to their shipping partners until the beginning of November, so they are starting their '10 business day shipping policy' on November 3rd, despite receiving all inventory on the 22nd of October.

I am very shocked and disappointed to hear this news, and am quite confused as to why the games did not start shipping immediately when they were received, as I was told they would be. I will take all of this into account in the future, but at the end of the day I have to apologize to everyone for any false expectations of delivery that I was under. I was originally told the games would all be shipped out by November 1st at the latest.

.

GOOD NEWS

ALL games are either being shipped currently, or have been shipped already. Here is news from all locations.

US / EU / CA: Games are being packed and shipped by Nov 16th at the absolute latest (this is 10 business days after the 3rd). I would expect this will be sooner but we are at the mercy of BlackBox and their fulfillment partners at this point.

Australia and New Zealand: As of Nov 2nd I heard that games were clearing customs, and should be at the fulfillment center soon. I am waiting for further news.

Asia: Games in Asia have shipped, and about half have tracking while the other half are on the way to localized fulfillment centers to ensure tracking and delivery. This is necessary in some locations as China Post can merely lead to lost packages without this extra step.

Thank you all for understanding this delivery schedule, there is only so much I can do to speed things along from my end and I'm doing everything I can at this point. Lets look forward to playing some great games soon! I will upload tracking info the moment I receive it from BlackBox and elsewhere.

If you have any questions or concerns you can always message or email me at [email protected]. I'll leave you all with a few teasers, including the exciting new Metal game I've designed, launching on KS in a little over a week by Lay Waste Games.

Fulfillment is on the way!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Oct 18, 2018 at 12:25:17 AM

The time has arrived! Over the next few weeks, games will be shipping and delivered to all of you beautiful TOKYO SERIES backers.

A few quick things to keep in mind, as many of you have been eager to get updates on fulfillment:

1 - Games are just now starting to reach fulfillment centers (more info per location below), and have NOT yet started shipping directly to your homes. Literally as soon as I receive tracking numbers for shipments, I will upload them to Backerkit, and you will be notified that your games have been sent and are on the way. There is no need to ask about where your games are before this, so please be patient until tracking numbers become available.

2 - I will post more updates as each fulfillment center sends out all of their shipments. This includes the US (with some countries from South America), Canada, EU, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand. This is a very exciting time, but please be patient and wait for news on final shipment status and tracking. It's coming very soon!

On to specific location updates:

UNITES STATES: Games have landed and are in transit to the fulfillment center in Indiana.

CANADA: Games have landed and are in transit to the fulfillment center.

EU: The current landing is scheduled for tomorrow (October 18th), and then they will be forwarded on to the fulfillment center.

AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND: The ship had a delay is now scheduled to port on October 27th in Sydney, after which games will be fulfilled quickly by Aetherworks.

ASIA: VFI has received and unpacked their shipments, and will be fulfilling throughout the week. I will update with tracking once received.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES: For the US, CA, and EU shipments, please be aware that it can take up to 10 business days for games to be shipped out from the fulfillment center as is the policy with BlackBox.

I will work to keep everyone up to date as often as possible, feel free to ask questions but do keep in mind I'm a one person team, and I'll be running a booth at Essen next week (more on this below).

I can't wait to put this beautiful metal currency that you all earned a free copy of, into your hands!

ESSEN SPIEL 2018

Next week, I'll be heading to Essen, Germany, to command a booth in Hall 1 (1D122) along with Lay Waste Games and Restoration Games. We have all had the privilege to work with Kickstarter and will proudly be sporting a "Made With Kickstarter" banner and custom artwork on the walls by the one and only Nick Nazzaro.

You can stop by to demo all of the Tokyo Series titles, Turin Market, Dragoon, Life Siphon, Fireball Island, and more! I am also planning to sell limited copies of the Tokyo Series there to help pay for my trip, and I will ask for everyones understanding as your games are delivering at the same time as the convention. I cannot state how highly I value your early support, if you have any questions or concerns feel free to message me!

Timelines, Rebrand, New Website, Washi Cats, and News!
over 5 years ago – Sun, Aug 19, 2018 at 01:56:29 AM

TIMELINES

Being a one person team and traveling very often, I can find it difficult to keep up Kickstarter updates more frequent than a month apart. Because of this, and the fact that I really want to keep everyone up to speed on production, I've added a new page to my website, https://jordandraper.com/timelines. This is the place to go and keep up with delivery schedules, etc!

To cut straight to the point, all games are currently being loaded onto ships in China and are on schedule to ship to your doorstep in early October!

In case you missed it or aren't subscribed to my newsletter, I've rebranded Dark Flight Games into Jordan Draper Games. There are a list of reasons behind this, the most prominent being that I work alone and the games I create are very personal works of art. You can read more here.

NEW WEBSITE

I have a brand new website (jordandraper.com), with a lot of exciting features, best of all being a rules page that houses the rules for the entire TOKYO SERIES! You will find Online Exclusive rules there, and more will be added as they are ready. This is the one stop shop for all things TOKYO SERIES :)

TOKYO WASHI GAME CATS

There's a new cat in town! The very first game played entirely on a roll of washi tape in the world, TOKYO WASHI GAME CATS launched at Gen Con 2018 and it will be the first member in a line of washi tape games for the TOKYO SERIES.

How does washi tape fit into the series? First of all, it's very Japanese :D Secondly, you can use the tape in certain mixed games, and as an additional component in an unannounced game that melds perfectly. More on that soon! You can read about WASHI CATS on my website here.

NEWS

I'm very very excited about all of the progress that's been made on the TOKYO SERIES and where Jordan Draper Games is headed. If you haven't already, you can sign up for my newsletter to get deals and exclusive news.

I will also be releasing a PnP of TOKYO TSUKIJI MARKET exclusively to the Play Testing team that has subscribed via the Join page on my website in less than a week. If you are interested in helping with early play testing on this monstrously fun economic game, there's still time to sign up.

FINAL MASS PRODUCED GAMES

I got my hands on 10 early copies of the mass produced games, and they are SPECTACULAR! You should see them popping up from a few reviewers soon ;)

Thank you again for your support and great consumer decisions. I will keep working hard for you!
